About me

I was born in Caltagirone, Sicily, a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city known around the world for its ceramics, history and extraordinary Baroque heritage. But to me, Caltagirone is much more than a place on a map. It is home. It is where my roots are. It is a part of who I am. I am deeply Sicilian — in my personality, in the way I speak, in my relationship with food, in my love for people, in my emotions and in the importance I give to human connection.

Life has taken me far from Sicily. I have lived in London, built a new chapter of my life in the United States, and today I live in Alabama with my husband, Paul. I have learned to call different places home, but I have never learned how to stop missing Sicily. And perhaps I don’t want to. Because wherever I live, I carry Caltagirone with me. I carry the sounds, the flavors, the traditions, the warmth of the people, the way we gather around a table, the conversations that seem to last forever and that unmistakable Sicilian way of turning even the simplest moment into something to remember.

I am a people person. I love being surrounded by people. I love talking, laughing, singing, sharing food and creating an atmosphere where people can simply enjoy being together. I am naturally energetic and social. I don’t like seeing someone sitting on the sidelines feeling left out. If there is music, I want people to sing. If there is an opportunity to laugh, I want people to laugh. If the atmosphere is too quiet, there is a very good chance I will try to bring it to life. That isn’t something I learned for work. It is simply part of me.

I believe positive energy can be contagious. Sometimes a conversation, a smile, a joke or a little attention can completely change someone’s day. And I have always believed that helping another person doesn’t necessarily mean giving something material. Sometimes the most valuable things we can give cost nothing: our time, our attention, our kindness and our presence.

Music has always been one of my greatest passions. I have loved singing since I was young. For me, music is freedom. It is emotion. It is one of the places where I can be completely myself. Over the years, I have even written two original songs, which I shared on YouTube. I love singing, but I love even more what music can create between people. Give me music, people and the right atmosphere and I am happy.

Fashion is another language I love. I love clothes, shoes, handbags, perfumes, cosmetics and creating outfits. I can be elegant, glamorous, casual or completely different depending on the day, because I don’t believe style should put us inside a box. Fashion should tell a little story about who we are before we even speak.

And then there is food. For a Sicilian, perhaps food was always going to be part of the story. I love eating, tasting, discovering restaurants, talking about ingredients and sharing a table with other people. To me, food is never only food. Food is memory. Food is culture. Food brings people together.

Social media is my little bridge across the ocean. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube have become part of my everyday life, but not simply because I enjoy creating and sharing content. Living abroad changes the meaning of social media. When Sicily is thousands of miles away, opening your phone can suddenly bring Italy back into your day. I can hear my language. I can see my city. I can follow what is happening at home. I can laugh with people on the other side of the ocean and share pieces of my American life with those who knew me before it existed. Social media allows me to be physically in America without completely losing that everyday connection with Italy. And through it, I share the things that genuinely represent me: fashion, food, music, beauty, humor, my dogs, everyday moments and simply life as I experience it.

And my dogs are family. Nala, Achille, Sofia and Zoe are a huge part of my life. Nala, my American AmStaff, is my first baby. Achille, my Cane Corso, is my second. They have an extraordinary place in my story because Nala and Achille made the journey from Sicily to America with me. When I changed continents, they came with me. Later came little Sofia, my Chihuahua, whom I acquired in Mexico, and Zoe, my Cane Corso, whom I acquired in Georgia. Today, all four share our home with Paul and me in Alabama. They are different in every possible way, with four completely different personalities, but they are part of what makes a place feel like home to me.

So who am I? I am Stefania Fragapane. I am a Sicilian woman who has traveled, moved countries, started again, learned different cultures and built a life far away from the place where she was born. But distance has never erased my roots. If anything, living abroad has taught me how precious they are. I love people. I love food. I love fashion. I love music. I love my dogs. I love making people laugh. I love beautiful things, but I also appreciate the simplest moments — a good meal, a song, a conversation, someone genuinely enjoying themselves. I don’t want to present myself as a perfect life or a perfect person. I simply want to be myself. The woman I am today has been shaped by Sicily, by the places I have lived, by the people I have met and by every new beginning along the way. There are parts of my story that belong only to me, and there are others that I am happy to share with the world. This website is one of them. It is a window into what I love, what I create, what makes me laugh, what inspires me and the energy I hope to leave with the people I meet. Because no matter how far life takes me, there is one thing I know for certain: I may live thousands of miles from Sicily, but Sicily has never lived a single day away from me. I am Stefania.
